The Power of Prayer

It is impossible to please God without prayers. He that prays in faith is greater than the evil one because the power of God abides in you. God's word released through our mouth will manifest his power in us. He that prays in truth and in spirit becomes a child of God and can see into the spirit realm. The Holy spirit dwells in he who seeks God earnestly. The bible instructs us to always pray in order to break the grip of satan. Prayer enlightens and equips the body of christ. Many believers has become discouraged in prayers and as a result the church has become weak. Through prayers the will of God and the word  of God is released upon the earth. Life and death are in the power of the tongue.(proverbs 18:21). Our faith is released through our word. The mouth speaks from the abundance of the heart. The word of God cultivated in our heart will come out through our mouth. The lord will hear your supplications and will answer to all those who call upon him. Prayers is the ultimate key to deliverance from every work of darkness. Jesus has given us the authority to bind and loose every demonic strongholds through his name. Every knee in heaven and earth shall bow at the mention of the name of Jesus christ. The fear of the Lord is to detest Evil.

  " do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.  And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7

Prayers of the upright men delights God. Sometimes our prayers seems unanswered or ignored. The bible says,

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened."Matthew 7:7-8

Every christian that prays in faith will recieve whatever he asks including the gifts of miracles. A specific gift of miracles is granted unto a believer not for himself but to capture the attention of the nonbeliever so that they will be open to the gospel and glorify God. Patience, sincerity and perseverance brings smiles to a prayerful heart.

 Daily prayers brings daily cleansing through the name of Jesus christ. The name and blood of Jesus has been giving unto every believer as a weapon against the enemy. Prayer brings victory, peace, joy, comfort, healing, contentment and holiness to a believer. It is the key to our final destination after death. Through prayers God sets us free from witchcraft, curses, idolatory, unforgiveness and addictions. With prayers we will overcome the powers of darkness and principalities. Ungodliness leads to eternal death

" For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places."Ephesians 6:12

 Daily prayers, fasting and full repentance is the most powerful spiritual discipline of every born again christian. The enemy does not want us to pray and he employs every means possible to distract our prayers. During prayers, distractions can come in variuos ways and we must do our utmost best to rebuke them. For our prayers to reach heaven we must focus our attention with sufficient intensity and concentration. Prayers said in truth and spirit can travel with the speed of thought, it reaches God before the next thought crosses our mind. God wants us to pray with our whole heart because his love for us is unconditional.

The lord Jesus taught us how to pray in the Bible.

The Lord's prayer
Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Matthew 6:9–13

Jesus instructs us to pray in the manner prescribed in the lords prayer but he did not say that other prayers are not accepted. Though the lord's prayer is a powerful prayer, it is also a guideline on how to pray. All prayers done in truth and in spirit delights God. Always begin your day with prayers for you do not know if you will see the next day. If you want to give your life to Jesus, please say this simple prayer with your whole heart.

           Repentance prayer

             Lord Jesus, i am a sinner and i  truely regret all my sins. Please forgive me and make me clean.

           From this moment i turn my back on sin and i renounce every evil spirit that has me bound.

           Please come into my heart and be my savior. Fill me with thy Holy spirit and give me the grace to sin no more.

           I believe that you died on the cross so that i may have abundant life.

           Thank you for giving your life for me. Amen


Having said this prayer. You must strive to practice daily repentance. Ask God to forgive you on daily basis and do your best to avoid all kinds of sins. Below are the sins that seperates us from God.

  • Adultery- sex outside marriage
  • Fornication- sex before marriage
  • Uncleanness-sexual immorality, child abuse, prostitution, incest, masturbation, beastiality.
  • Self-indulgence-Homosexuality, lesbianism, lasciviousness, sexual perversion and pornography.
  • Addictions- Gambling, smoking, alchohol consumption, drugs dealing and using, unholy music, partying and clubing
  • Sins of heart- evil thoughts, envy, jealousy, lust
  • Sins of mouth- use of bad words, gossip, judging others, cursing, taking oath, false accusation, false witness, swearing.
  • Idolatary- worship of other Gods, Cursing God, Keeping the lords day unholy, wrong religion,  changing or altering the word of God(bible), false prophet/prophecy, witchcraft, voodoo, juju, black magic, blood convenant, satanism.
  • Murder, Telling Lies, Theft , Cheating, fighting , Hatred, Unforgiveness, Pride, Covertousness
  • Blasphemy against the holy spirit.
  • Disobedience: Violation of the entire ten commandments is not accepted.

Jesus warns us that all sins can be forgiven except the sin against The Holy spirit.

" Truly Truly I tell you, people can be forgiven all their sins and every slander they utter, but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; they are guilty of an eternal sin.”  Mark 3:28-29

The Holy Spirit 

The Holy Spirit is the spirit of God, the third person in the HolyTrinity. The Holy spirit and God are one. God the father created the universe through the Son Jesus christ and by the power of the holy spirit. Jesus is the word of God and the Holy spirit is the power of God. The Holy spirit empowers a true believer with Wisdom, understanding, counseling, fortitude, knowledge, piety and fear of the lord. The bible tells us in galatians 5:25, that if we live by the spirit, we must also be guided by the spirit but the opposite is evident in our world today. Many christians has so much ignored the holy spirit that they practically ask him to step aside while they do things their own way. When the Holy Spirit dwells in a believer, he blesses the person with the fruit of love, joy, peace, gentleness, faithfullness, generosity, kindness and patience.
