The power of Free Will
War is raging in the invisible realm. We are not alone. We live in a physical world which is influenced by the invisible world. The evil one is fighting for our souls and the choices we make will decide our eternity. Our ultimate destination depends on our Free Will. The Free Will- becomes a blessing if we choose the right part. On the contrary, if we choose the wrong part the Free Will- becomes a curse and can lead us to eternal destruction. " see, I am setting before you today a blessing and a curse: the blessing, if you obey the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you today, and the curse, if you do not obey the commandments of the Lord your God, but turn aside from the way that I am commanding you today, to go after other gods that you have not known." Deuteronomy 11:26-28
Free will: Free Will is the ability to choose how to act or make voluntary choices or decisions that are not controlled by fate or by divine intervention. God created man in his own image and man inherited the gift of Free Will from God. If God has done otherwise, would he be called a fair God, would he not be a dictator, but out of his abundant love and mercy He allowed us to be able to make our own choices and decisions in life.
In the beginning, when lucifer and his followers revolted against God. If God desired, he could destroy them with a single word without a fight but he allowed the entire angelic beings to decide whom to follow. The Free choices of the angels brought about the war in heaven and the rebellious angels were defeated and expelled from heaven. That event marked the greatest test of the Free Will theory. Free Will is seen by many as a great gift but the fact that it comes with serious challenges cannot be ignored as any step taken into the wrong direction can bring about an irreversible consequences. The Bible instructs us to always be on the watch for we do not know when we will take our last breath. To help the ordinary man overcome this unforeseen consequences God has giving us another gift, an adviser and a comforter, the Holy spirit to lead us in choosing wisely the right part. Our conscious mind often battles between making the right or wrong decisions. This is evident in the awareness of good and evil that rages constantly in our thoughts. The Holy Spirit is always there to warn us when we are tempted but many will ignore it or refuse to listen to the voice. " No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it." 1 corinthians 10:13
Most people argue out of self-delusion that there is no free Will or rather that the concept of free will is an illusion. The opponents of Free Will base their argument on tangible matters while ignoring the spiritual power of our decision. Free Will is a conscious act, and conciousness is something of the soul. There are invisible forces that constantly play a role in directing every choices we make but we are the ones to choose the final and ultimate action to take.
if we are to overcome the desires of the flesh we must walk in the spirit. The spirit and the flesh are at war with each other and only you can decide who wins the war. if your will is that the spirit wins then you must crucify the flesh by resisting its worldly desires.
" But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do." Galatians 5:16-17
In conclusion, Man is indeed a free mortal being and can freely decide his part. God does not coerce man's will, rather God directs our steps through the work of the Holy Spirit. . " The heart of man plans his way, but the lord establishes his steps." Proverbs 16:9There will be only two kinds of people in the end. Those who say to God, "let thy will be done," and those who say to Satan, "Let your will be done." The choice we make is in our hands. Listen to the positive voices within you in order to make the right choices in life. Our Free Will can be a blessing as well as a curse.
